2015: There is still a lot to be done —Desmond Elliot

During the week, the All-Progressives Party, (APC) conducted its primaries in Lagos State as entertainers, Desmond Elliot and Kenny St Best contested in  Surulere and Ikeja constituencies respectively.

While Desmond Elliot won over his counterpart, Kabiru Lawal,  Kenny St Best who contested against Lai Mohammed’s son, Folajimi Mohammed, lost in Ikeja constituency.

Speaking on his win in the APC primaries, Desmond told Saturday Tribune: ‘It’s a new thing for the entertainment industry; it shows that the party cares about the youths, Nollywood and its people as a whole. It equally shows that I and my fellow colleagues  still have a lot of work to do.

So, it’s a win-win situation for my constituency in Surulere’.

A few weeks ago, the actor gave out scholarships to some students as well as health insurance certificates to 13 senior citizens of Surulere through his  Desmond Elliot Foundation.

Speaking on violence which claimed  lives of some youths in other constituencies, the ace actor implored with the young ones to desist from all forms of hooliganism saying, “though there was no violence in Surulere constituency the youths should understand that it is going to get better, as they have so much to offer the country in the nearest future.

However, other entertainers 9ice, Tony Tetuila, Bukky Wright and  Dayo Adeneye  lost out in their respective constituencies.
