2015: Imo youths pledge support for Okorocha, APC

A youth group under the aegis of Congress of Imo Youths, CIY, yesterday declared for the All Progressives Congress, APC, while pledging to work for the re-election of Governor Rochas Okorocha in the 2015 election.

The youths, who paid a visit to Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, in Owerri, the state capital, said their visit was to identify with Okorocha and his deputy for their giant strides in the state.

Coordinator of the youth group, Comrade Udochukwu Emekalam, said they had taken time to evaluate the performance of the administration and realised it had delivered democratic dividends to the people.

Worried by the mis-governance of the past, Udochukwu said the youths decided to drop partisanship and work for a government that thinks about the future of the people.

Similarly, Woman leader of the group, Dorothy Opara, said: “We, the women, are very happy and thank God that Owelle Rochas Okorocha could not make it in his presidential bid. It was the prayer of the women that the governor consolidates on his good work in Imo State.”

She said the regime’s free education programme had saved numerous poor people’s lives, adding that the government’s empowerment ranged from furnishing close to 200 houses for indigent widows, with clothing, financial empowerment, freedom that everyone enjoys, construction of roads at the rural areas.

Dorothy said the women were ready to go all out to ensure the successful reelection of the governor and his deputy.

Responding, Prince Madumere showered praises on the youth group for being sincere. He said the only way to transform the state and Nigeria in general is when people say the truth and jettison desperate politicians.

He therefore, assured the group that if Okorocha and APC return to power, every home in the state would be ultimate beneficiaries of good governance
