Enugu 2015: Ohanaeze chief calls for dialogue, sacrifice among aspirants

Moved by the lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, a patron of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Igwe Patrick Eze, has called for dialogue and a truce among aspirants.
Eze, who is the traditional ruler of Egali Amalla community in Udenu Council Area of the state, said this was necessary to avoid moves capable of creating tension in the polity ahead of the 2015 general election

He urged aspirants on the platform of PDP to employ dialogue as alternative means to resolve the crisis trailing the resignation of Vita Abba as state chairman and the ward congress election ahead of the party primary.

Reminding aspirants that only one person could be governor or occupy other positions, Eze added that government was big enough to accommodate all.

“I wish to use this medium to appeal to all the aspirants, who are entangled by the crisis to sit in a roundtable and sort out issues of power sharing and harmonization. The word ‘power sharing’ and harmonization as I know, originated from them, who are in politics and thus they have to apply it in this circumstance and avoid hitting up the polity,” he said.

He tasked the aspirants on sacrifice, saying as patriotic citizens of the state, they should endeavour to imbibe the culture of sacrifice and concede positions to one another as part of their contributions for peace, development and progress, adding that people were ready to appreciate and immortalize such sacrifice with open heart.
