30 quack doctors arrested, 122 sanctioned

Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has arrested 30 quack doctors, just as it facilitated the conviction of 14 of them at the courts within four years of its creation.
Registrar of MDCN, Dr. Abdulmunin Ibrahim, made the disclosure yesterday in Abuja during the celebration of 50th anniversary of the council.

He stated that in the area of discipline of doctors, the council had investigated over 1,550 complaints and sanctioned 122 practitioners.
He said the number of training institutions in the country accredited by the council had increased from one, which was University College Hospital, to 31 within the last 50 years.
